I’m an award-winning travel and lifestyle writer, editor and photographer based in Toronto, Canada (by way of Thunder Bay by way of Germany) with a journalism degree from Ryerson University, where I also studied photography.
My work has been featured in consumer and trade publications, including Canadian Family, Post City Magazines, The Toronto Star and OHS Canada. My story, You’ll Never Be Blue in Colourful Curaçao, was awarded Best Feature Article in a Canada-based Trade Publication at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Media Awards in 2017. At the 2019 Caribbean Media Awards, I won the Oh Snap! Award for Best Photograph In Conjunction With A Feature Article for Discovering Another Side of Jamaica.
Some of my most memorable travel experiences include visiting with mountain gorillas in Rwanda, trekking Machu Picchu, getting a firsthand look at the positive impact tourism can have on communities by visiting social enterprises in Nepal and India, island hopping in St. Vincent and The Grenadines, and taking in the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
I cover the travel industry – sometimes in international destinations – for Canadian Travel Press and Travel Courier magazines at Baxter Media, and am available for freelance work.
